This portal page will contain all the important information for the Catholic Ladies College STEAM: Missions & Frontiers Tour in March/April 2025. This tour departs on Saturday April 26 and returns on Tuesday May 6.

Itinerary

Day 1: Departure - Saturday March 29• Depart Melbourne Airport for Nashville, Tennessee • QF93 - Departs MEL (12:00pm), Arrives LAX (8:20am)• UA1216 - Departs LAX (11:53am), Arrives IAH (5:10pm)• UA4785 - Departs IAH (6:27pm), Arrives BNA (8:30pm)• Check into hotel
Day 2 - 6: Space Camp - Sunday March 30 to Thursday April 3 • Transfer to Space Camp • Participate in a mission simulation that includes launching and landing a Space Shuttle and simulating a spacewalk on the International Space Station• Participate in a mission simulation that includes launching, landing and walking on Mars• Experience the effect of zero gravity in the multiaxial trainer• Experience one-sixth gravity of the Moon, by performing a Moon walk• Work through challenges of Mission Control during live space missions• Build model rockets and complete analysis of their launch and flight trajectories• Build a heat shield use to protect Space Shuttles during re-entry • Complete leadership development and team work activities• Partake in a guided tour of the operational side of the Marshall Space Centre and Davidson Centre.• Participate in a simulated shuttle launch - with simulated G-force• View retired NASA rockets and the Pathfinder shuttle• Participate in various IMAX and Space Camp-staff led presentations
Day 7: Travel to Los Angeles - Friday April 4• Space Camp Graduation • Depart Space Camp for Los Angeles, California • UA5393 - Departs HSV (3:34pm), Arrives DEN (5:45pm) • UA1368 - Departs DEN (7:35pm), Arrives LAX (9:08pm)• Transfer to Anahiem Hotel Day 8: Disneyland, Los Angeles - Saturday April 5• STEAM Program• Chance to also explore/have fun on rides
Day 9: Disneyland & Departure - Sunday April 6• Spend the day at Disneyland • Chance to also explore/have fun on rides• Depart Los Angeles for Melbourne • QF94 - Departs LAX (9:50pm), Arrives MEL (6:40am)
Day 10: Day lost in transit - Monday April 7
Day 11: Arrival - Tuesday April 8• Arrive at Melbourne Airport (6:40am)

Traveler Data Form

Parents/carers are asked to complete the Traveler Data Form for their child as part of the preparations for the Catholic Ladies College STEAM: Missions & Applications Tour. Go to Traveller Data Form This form is due by 9:00am Monday January 27 2025.

Payment Timeline

The total cost of the tour is $9,200 and is broken down into the following payment timeline. All payments are to be made directly to Catholic Ladies College. May 24 2024 – $700 deposit (non-refundable) July 15 2024 – $2,000 partial paymentSeptember 1 2024 – $2,000 partial payment November 1 2024 – $2,000 partial paymentDecember 1 2024 – $1,500 partial paymentFebruary 1 2025 – $1,000 partial payment
