Three Day Immersion at the Kennedy Space Centre. Each of the three days has a set intinerary with tailored programs, each contributing to enhance student enjoyment and STEM engagement. As part of these three days, students will:
- Have lunch with an Astronaut, hearing first-hand of their stories of space travel
- Participate in a mission simulation that includes launching, landing and walking on Mars
- Perform a spacewalk through exciting and immersive microgravity simulation technology
- Participate in a launch of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket as a member of both the launch control team and the Orion capsule crew
- Create personalized video logs of the unforgettable experience to revisit after you complete your mission.
- Participate in a simulated travel to the Red Planet for a day to live and work on Mars Base 1
- Work through challenges of living on the Martian surface, including managing the Base Operations Center on Mars, growing and harvesting plants in the Botany Lab, and collecting and analysing data that will be sent to real NASA scientists
- Optimize energy intake for the Base by programming robots to clear debris from solar panels
- Partake in a guided tour of the operational side of the Kennedy Space Centre
- Participate in a simulated shuttle launch - with simulated G-force
- View retired NASA rockets and the Atlantis shuttle
- Participate in various IMAX and NASA-staff led presentations
Three Day Immersion at Universal Studios. Students participate in four separate STEAM workshops over their three-day immersion at Universal Studios. Through this, students are guided through the technical side of a range of attractions, and will use this information to analyse a range of Universal's top attractions, such as rollercoasters and 3D Simulation rides. Each program has a separate focus, however all help students to deepen their understanding of how Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics are integrated into the rides of Universal Studios. Time is also built in through these three days for students to have a "free-exploration" of both Universal Studios parks - allowing them the opportunity to experience the first-hand thrill of STEAM in action.
iFly Wind Tunnel Experience. This experience is guided by four specific components:
Students will be guided through a series of calculations and factors that contribute to impact an individual's terminal velocity. Using this knowledge, they will make predications on their own terminal velocity, and test this using a state-of-the-art wind tunnel. Student's will be given the opportunity to undertake a 2-minute free-fall in a wind tunnel, and will gather data to validate the calculations they have made in reference to their own terminal velocity.
Two Days at DisneyWorld. These days provides students with the unique opportunity to experience the iconic DisneyWorld (two parks of your school's choice), including two STEAM Youth Educational Experience. Through this, students are guided through the technical side of a range of attractions, and will use this information to analyse a range of DisneyWorld's top attractions. Each program has a separate focus, however all help students to deepen their understanding of how Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics are integrated into the rides of DisneyWorld. Time is also built in through these three days for students to have a "free-exploration" of both DisneyWorld allowing them to take in the full Disney experience. Visit to Full Sails University. Students complete a tour of Full Sails University, exploring the many different offerings avaliable from the STEM field. Students can also participate in a variety of workshops at Full Sails, including Music & Recording, Digital Design and Stop Motion Animation.
Downtime & General Exploration. Built in to every package is a block of "downtime". Use your iTrolley pass to visit the Orlando Premium Outlets and do some shopping, or explore the many different activities and experiences that are within reach from your central location.
- Interactive 'physics of flight' presentation on real-world application of STEM with wind tunnels.
- Vertical wind tunnel ball flight testing.
- Hands-on, creative student experiments.
- In-depth flight training and flight experience.
